IELTS Writing Task 2 – Morning Slot 7 May 2022
The shortage
of housing in big cities can cause severe consequences. Only Government can
solve this problem.
To what
extent do you agree or disagree?
Over the
years, the accommodation in big cities has been one of the challenges faced by
city dwellers. However , it is considered that the government has the authority
and the responsibility to curb the problem. I largely agree that the
administration can tackle this issue aptly.
To commence
with , the fact cannot be denied that people in the metropolitan cities often
complain about lack of quality housing and accommodation. It is because the population in the cities
has been increasing as men and women from rural areas opt to live in such
developing town. This phenomenon has caused improper accommodation and lack of
land to build new houses. Moreover , the traffic congestion and illegal
building is now common in the cities. Recently , a survey conducted by
independent organization indicated that about 35% cities would not be able to
offer quality spaces to live.
Moving
ahead, it is believed that the government has the authority to handle this
growing problem. I totally support this notion and the city administration must
instruct people to build houses by following certain guidelines. The government
should encourage builders to construct vertical buildings so more and more
people could be housed. Additionally, those who have erected illegal building
without the permission of local government body must be fined. If the
government and local administration don’t take cognizance of this severe
problem, people may have to face disastrous consequences. Therefore, the governments
should take control of the grieving issue.
To sum up,
it is high time to take concrete steps to solve the housing crisis in the big
towns and the governments are fully capable and accountable to mitigate this
issue and ameliorate the living conditions.
