How to write problem and Solution Essay for IELTS

Overpopulation in urban area has led to numerous problems. Identify one or two serious ones and suggest ways that government and individuals can tackle these problems.

Due to mass transit from villages to cities, urban areas have become densely populated. This development has caused severe issues for city residents such as unemployment and environmental pollution. However, many measurements can be taken by authorities and people to overcome these problems.

For couple of decades, more and more people from rural areas have shifted to cities for better opportunities and quality of life. This phenomenon has led to some serious problems for those living in developing or developed urban areas. Because of an increase in population the jobs have decreased significantly and the proportion of environmental pollution has inclined dramatically.  To explain it, a rise in numbers of people from villages moving to cities creates tough competition in job market as migrants are ready to work on low wages. They even move to cities for employment and later get settled over there. One more issue created by overpopulation has led to traffic pollution. And it has been causing many health issues among people.

Though, these problems cause many hindrances to those who work and live in cities. Yet, many effective steps can be taken by authorities and individuals. One of them is to move large industries to rural setting for mutual benefits. People from villages would find employment and businesses would have to spend less than cities. Apart from this, governments must invest money building better schools and hospital so villagers don’t have to rely on cities for basic amenities. People should take some onus on themselves and create resources within their areas by updating their agricultural and dairy farming skills. I believe these measurements can effectively overcome the problems of pollution and crunch of jobs in cities.

To summarize, governments and individuals should collaborate to provide better facilities and employment opportunities in rural setting. Otherwise, cities would have to face disastrous consequences in the future.
