10 December 2022 – Morning Slot Writing Task 2
Some employers are giving more value on hiring people with social skills apart from good qualifications. Do you agree that social skills are just as crucial as good qualifications for success at work?
Many companies
prefer to recruit people having better interpersonal skills as well as required
expertise or qualifications for specific jobs. I agree with the given statement
that social skills such as cooperation, communication and body language are
highly useful to succeed at work. However, qualifications are instrumental to
get hired and work in the companies.
However,
social skills are crucial to be effective at work, but it is not possible to
get hired without having required or better qualification. Many jobs don’t need
more interaction with co-workers and clients. The employees are required to be appropriately
qualified to carry out such jobs. In such cases, social skills are least valued
over qualification. But majority of jobs are required be done by groups and
there social skills come into play. So I would say that, human skills and
educational qualification and expertise to perform certain jobs are equally important.
That’s why companies give hire people
who meet both requirements.
